Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative Payroll & Operations Coordinator to join our growing payroll operations team. This role is ideal for an individual with a background in payroll, accounting, administration, or a related field who is looking to further develop their knowledge of payroll operations and technology while working closely within a supportive, team-oriented environment.
What will your typical day look like?
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day administration of payroll activities while contributing to operational excellence, client service, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working side by side with colleagues across the payroll and operations team, the coordinator will share knowledge, support peers during peak periods, and help foster a culture of collaboration and mutual accountability. This position offers exposure to the full payroll lifecycle, multiple payroll technologies, and opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic and evolving team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations Support
Support the administration of payroll activities throughout the payroll cycle.
Enter, update, and validate payroll-related information accurately and within established deadlines.
Perform payroll validations and assist with payroll reconciliations.
Provide Tier 1 support for payroll-related inquiries from employees and clients.
Investigate payroll discrepancies, data issues, and employee inquiries, and collaborate with senior team members to support resolution.
Support payroll year-end activities, audits, and compliance-related processes.
Maintain payroll documentation, records, and operational trackers.
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the end-to-end payroll process and associated deadlines.
Administrative & Operational Support
Coordinate payroll documentation, approvals, and follow-ups.
Monitor deadlines, action items, and outstanding requests.
Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, and operational metrics.
Maintain process documentation and support knowledge management initiatives.
Support internal projects and process improvement initiatives.
Technology & Continuous Improvement
Learn and utilize various payroll and HR technology platforms.
Support data validation, testing activities, and system-related initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, controls, and client experience.
Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability when learning new tools and technologies.

You are someone who has these skills, experience & qualifications:
2+ years of relevant experience in payroll, accounting, finance, administration, or customer service.
Basic understanding of payroll concepts and processes.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Ability and willingness to learn new payroll and technology platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
It would be great for you to have some of these nice to haves as well:
PCP designation, or enrollment in the National Payroll Institute program, is considered an asset.
Experience working with payroll systems is an asset but not required.

Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $57,000 - $102,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
