Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant/Cleaner to join our team in providing exceptional care for animals and supporting the daily operations of our facility. This role involves assisting with animal care, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for pets. The ideal candidate is compassionate, reliable, and capable of handling physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and facilities to uphold hygiene standards
Feed and provide fresh water to animals according to established schedules
Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report concerns.
Assist with the exercise, enrichment and socialization of animals to promote their well-being
Handle heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies, bedding, or animals when necessary
Maintain detailed records of animal care activities and observations
General facility and outdoor space maintenance(poop scooping, mowing, weeding, raking, shovelling)

Skills

Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners and visitors
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently, often involving large or heavy items or animals
Compassionate attitude towards animals and their needs
Good communication skills for effective teamwork and reporting concerns
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment
Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
Reliable, punctual and access to own transportation.

This position offers an engaging opportunity to work closely with animals while contributing to their health and happiness. The successful candidate will be committed to providing compassionate care and maintaining a clean, safe environment for all.

Shifts are Tuesdays and Saturdays 8am to 11am/12pm. More hours likely available in summer/holidays.
