Title and Authority
Warehouse Lead
This role reports directly to the VP of Supply Chain. This role directly supervises the Warehouse Associates.
General Description of the Role
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for coordinating daily warehouse activities within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role ensures accurate order fulfilment, inventory movement, and shipment processing while supervising a team of warehouse associates. The Warehouse lead acts as the front-line leader to maintain productivity, safety, and quality standards across all warehouse functions, including picking, packing, staging, and shipping.
Role Accountabilities
- Team leadership and supervision to ensure efficient task execution and high team performance.
- Operational execution; oversight of all daily distribution activities.
- Ensure accurate inventory handling, tracking, and documentation in line with company procedures and safety protocols.
- Participate in the training and cross training of team members and support continuous skill development to maintain operational consistency and safety compliance.
- Quality and accuracy assurance.
- Enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, including the code of conduct.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working warehouse, and identify all potentially hazardous situations.
Specific Tasks
- Lead routine toolbox talks to review upcoming work schedules, coordinate inbound and outbound shipment planning, and address safety updates and actions items.
- Work closely with management to assess and respond to operational priorities, including product knowledge training, freight handling requests, and time-sensitive issues requiring immediate attention.
- Ensure adherence to established safety protocols and operating procedures for the proper and secure use of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Oversee the prompt and precise receipt of all incoming products, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage to maintain inventory integrity.
- Validate the accuracy of all outbound shipments, ensuring correct items, quantities, and documentation before departure.
- Immediately communicate any inventory shortages, discrepancies, or damages to operations or the customer service representative (CSR) to ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure all same day scheduled orders are prepared and set for dispatch. Notify operations or the CSR of any orders not picked up or shipped on the day they are due.
- Accurately maintain shipping and receiving records, ensuring all relevant paperwork is submitted to branch operations within 48 hours of product arrival.
- Liaise with shipping companies to arrange daily shipments and confirm weigh bills are accurate and prepared for efficient turnaround.
- Work collaboratively with truck drivers to ensure safe and secure load configurations, incorporating driver recommendations as needed.
- Partner with management to assess and improve warehouse layout, maximizing storage efficiency and recommending improvements to enhance workflow.
- Actively participate in the safety committee and support all corporate safety initiatives to maintain a safe working environment.
- Oversee the timely preparation and shipment of products samples and displays as required.
- Perform regular cycle counts as scheduled, ensuring accuracy and promptly addressing any variances.
- Maintain orderly stock organization while minimizing inventory loss, product damage, claims, and cutting errors.
- Monitor and replenish warehouse supply inventory, implementing cost-effective purchasing practices.
Skills and Experience/Qualifications
- Fluent in English.
- A good communicator, both verbally and in writing.

- Proficient in computers generally and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- A high school diploma.
- 5+ years of work experience in a comparable role.
- Experience with handheld scanners.
- Experience with floor coverings.
- First Aid training, CPR.
- Experience and formal training to operate a forklift.
- Must be able to repetitively lift up to 75 lbs.
- No travel required.
- Work location is onsite
Pay: $17.89-$26.44 per hour
