Job Overview
Augury Healthcare is currently hiring experienced Health Care Aides for travel contract opportunities across Alberta.
This opportunity is ideal for Health Care Aides with strong acute care, Med/Surg, or combined acute care experience who are comfortable working in fast-paced healthcare environments. Successful candidates will support nursing teams, assist patients with daily care needs, and contribute to safe, respectful, and compassionate patient care.
Contract opportunities are available for flexible assignment lengths ranging from 4 weeks to 6 months.
Position Details
- Role: Health Care Aide
- Location: Alberta
- Setting: Acute Care, Combined Acute Care, Med/Surg and ER
- Contract Length: 4 weeks to 6 months
- Contract Period: May 4, 2026 to November 4, 2026
- Shift Types: Days, evenings, nights and weekends
- Shift Length: 8.25-hour shifts
- Pay Rate: $21.00 to $27.00 per hour
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care or Med/Surg experience within the last 5 years
- Current and active BLS-HCP certification
- CHLA is mandatory
- Strong communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Ability to follow care plans, facility policies, and infection prevention standards
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, nights and weekends
- Professional, reliable, and compassionate approach to patient care
Key Responsibilities
As a Health Care Aide, responsibilities may include:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living
- Support nursing staff with patient care needs
- Provide safe, respectful, and compassionate care to patients and families
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition
- Assist with mobility, comfort, hygiene, and personal care as required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful care environment
- Follow facility policies, care plans, and infection prevention standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, and healthcare team members
- Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
