Department: Registrar Department, Main Campus, Standoff, AB

Job Title: Student Recruiter

Term: 1-year term with the possibility of an extension

Closing date: Until the position is filled

The Student Recruiter works within the Registrar’s Department at Red Crow Community College (RCCC), assisting Program Leads within the College in recruiting students to RCCC programs. Some roles and responsibilities include using a wide variety of communication media and formats, addressing queries on the different academic programs offered at RCCC, keeping detailed records, building relationships with surrounding school districts and other post-secondary institutions, developing and attending recruitment events, and working closely with the Registrar and program leads. This person must possess exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. The Student Recruiter must be very organized, have a strong work ethic, proficient computer skills, and a willingness to learn.

Work closely with academic programs within the College to establish recruitment initiatives and plans for the upcoming Academic term(s);
Work collaboratively with Red Crow Community College academic departments, Post-Secondary Student Services Program and other departments.
Serve as a liaison between community agencies and other academic institutions.
Create a database of prospective and potential students and related programs.
Participate in developing student recruitment strategies and written materials such as brochures, posters, program books, and program calendars.
Scheduling meetings with partnering agencies and schools
Attend and host student recruitment fairs
Providing regular updates to their supervisor and other RCCC departments
Create information sessions to assist potential students in navigating and providing program information.
Provide campus tours to potential students and visitors to the college
Be an ambassador of Red Crow Community College.

Qualifications

A college diploma, preferably related to communications, marketing, or education, in a related discipline.
Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in student recruiting for a post-secondary institution.
Experience in public speaking
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft applications and computer skills.
Experience in a First Nations or adult education setting is considered an asset.
