Overview
Peak is a Lethbridge-based Human Services agency that provides support services to persons with developmental disabilities. Peak’s core focus is on opening doors in our community for persons with disabilities. These ‘doors’ include vocational training, employment support, residential services, assistance in navigating the justice system, and programs that simultaneously build life skills and enhance quality of life.
The Finance & Admin Assistant provides organized, accurate and responsive administrative and finance-related support to the Operations Manager, Payroll, Human Resources, Finance and other Peak departments and programs as required. The position supports the day-to-day operation of the agency by maintaining administrative systems, coordinating information and schedules, supporting financial and payroll processes, maintaining records and databases, assisting with agency communications, and supporting Peak’s social enterprise operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide finance and administrative support, including credit card reconciliation, accounts payable, petty cash, onboarding/termination system updates, and HR filing and reporting
- Serve as a key operator of internal systems, including ShareVision database administration (user accounts, permissions, records) and the agency phone and communication systems
- Manage purchasing and inventory, coordinating office, janitorial, and social enterprise supplies, and reconciling purchases against supporting documentation
- Support More For Less and Peak Vocational Services operations, including scheduling (Quetzal, Jobber), recycling route and work order administration, customer liaison, and shredding drop-off processing
- Ensure compliance and reporting accuracy, assisting with audits, funder/contractual reporting (PDD, SA FASD Network), and risk-mitigation and safety-related administrative tasks
Our ideal candidate will have a combination of knowledge and Experience:
- Months to 1 year of demonstrated knowledge, and experience in an administrative supporting role
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and pursue their life choices and participate actively in the community.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and handle information appropriately.
- Highly organized with effective time management skills
- Advanced level of proficiency in computer skills
- Commitment to workplace compliance
- Confident, consistent, decisive personality
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education and/or specialized training in office administration, finance, bookkeeping, payroll or a related area.
- Experience using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Database experience with various organizational specific systems.
- A valid class 5 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to use for work purposes
- Confirmation of Insurance with $1,000,000 liability coverage
- Clean Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Persons Check
Wages and Benefits: The wages offered will reflect the education, and experience of the candidate. This position is a full-time position (40 hours per week); Monday to Friday.
