Startec Refrigeration Service is currently recruiting for a
Commercial Refrigeration/HVAC Mechanic to work at our
Lethbridge, Alberta location (
106 Broxburn Blvd, Lethbridge, AB). This role offers the opportunity to further develop expertise in refrigeration system service, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance while contributing to a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

Rates are determined based on experience and tenure. The base pay range for Apprenticeships to Journeyperson’s rates are $26.95 to $59.17 per hour
(depending on years of experience and supplemental rates/premiums). Dual ticket premiums may also apply.- Installation of welded, threaded, and/or brazed refrigeration piping systems.

Conduct start-ups, inspections, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance for refrigeration/HVAC systems, resolving system issues as needed.

Complete regulatory paperwork regarding refrigerant release, ABSA, CFIA, etc.

Troubleshoot refrigeration/HVAC electrical control systems and perform necessary repairs.

Perform all work in compliance with the Quality Control and Health & Safety program.

Take on additional duties as required to support job functions.

Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism, competence, and integrity.

Ensure accurate and timely completion of paperwork and reports to facilitate prompt invoicing and support customer and company needs

Prioritize workplace safety by adhering to all safety protocols and fostering a secure environment for colleagues and clients.

Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

Apprenticeship or Journeyman certification or equivalent in HVAC refrigeration mechanics.

Basic computer skills required (MS Office Applications)

Class A Gas Fitting, Electrician/Sheetmetal, and/or Hydronic experience is an asset

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Willingness to learn and develop technical skills through on-the-job training.

Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean Driver's Abstract

Ability to work independently and on-call.

Ability to work out of town. Travel and overnight stays may be required from time to time.
