Based out of our Melcor Centre, Lethbridge office, this Occupational Therapy position is part of the dynamic Audiology and Children’s Allied Health program. Our multidisciplinary team consists of Occupational Therapy, Audiology, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Speech Language Pathology and Therapy Assistants who provide service to a pediatric population birth to 18 years. Our pediatric program follows the AHS Rehabilitation Model of Care with a primary focus on birth to 6 years of age, with limited services for those aged 6 thru 18. The successful incumbent will show proficiency in the following areas: Interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team. You must be self-directed and able to work independently, demonstrate excellent time management and prioritization skills. Description:
As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for the coordination of occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team where you will be an integral member, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be providing coordination of the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will be participating in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will be making decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. As assigned, you will carry out the roles of a direct clinical service provider, consultant, educator and/or advocate in your program or service area.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
