Are you looking for a job with a part-time schedule that gives you a real purpose and a rewarding connection to the community? The Lethbridge Métis are looking for a temporary, part-time Market Assistant to help our growing business operations.
This position will work closely with the staff and elected leadership of the Lethbridge & Area Métis Association to meet organisational goals and objectives. Interacting with many different types of people, this role will require someone who is outgoing, personable and possesses the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will be expected to staff the Lethbridge & Area Métis Association table at the farmers market, other opportunities for occasional program support or special projects are likely, for the right person.
The Lethbridge & Area Métis are a dedicated team, and we are looking for the right person to join us.
Duties include:
- Engaging with community members at the market
- Adhering to established policies and procedures
- Promoting association events and programs
- Answering basic questions about the organization
- Attending meetings as required
- Attend and help coordinate events - weekend work is required.
- Additional duties assigned by the Executive
Qualifications
- Outgoing and personable
- Organized with attention to detail
- 1-3 Years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of Métis culture, politics and history (Preferred)
- Clean criminal record check (Required)
- Comfortable taking payment with Square POS (Training provided)
Hours of work:
Every other Saturday morning from June to October, including setup and takedown times. Other planning meetings as required.
Salary: $20/hour.
This role requires an on-site presence at the local farmers market to represent the Lethbridge & Area Métis Association. This is not a remote position.
