We are a Residential Private School located just north of Peterborough, looking for this particular type of individual.

The Lead Cook will manage afternoon operations, supervising cooks, and ensure food quality and safety. They will delegate tasks, maintain inventory, and take charge of all food prep. They will report to the Head Executive Chef.

Essential Functions, Qualifications & Skills

Time management ensuring the team delivers a quality product within scheduled meal service times
Prepare menu items, sauces, and garnishes accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining presentation standards
Ensures all dishes leave the kitchen at the correct temperature and meets standards
Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
Enforce strict health and safety guidelines, and oversee end of shift cleaning.
Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co- workers, etc.
Ensures security of company assets
Experience as a lead Red Sealed Cook or in a related role required, with 3 years' experience
Safe Food Handler certification is required
Ability to coordinate a team, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively under pressure
Proven knowledge of the principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
Must be able to obtain food safety certification
Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
