Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Accounts Payable, the Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for paying invoices, verifying and processing payable transactions, preparing journal entries and completing reconciliations.

What You’ll Do:
1. Processes daily accounts payables timely and accurately. This includes obtaining approval from management or the business to issue payments, handling adjustments, and preparing corresponding journal entries and reports.
2. Analyzes discrepancies, ensures errors are corrected, and confirms accuracy prior to payment.
3. Provides support to trade and broker trust payables.
4. Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Sorts, delivers and mails information including cheques and remittance advices, and matches cheques to paid invoices for signing.
6. Obtains, analyzes, and enters all information into the sub-ledger schedules to prepare monthly reconciliation of receipts and disbursements
7. Performs monthly reconciliations of sub-ledgers to the general ledger
8. Secures financial information through regular database back-ups and follows internal accounting controls to maintain financial security
9. Assists with processing and tracking of prepaid payments, including preparing monthly journal entries, and year end documentation.
10. Prepares and processes electronic funds transfer (EFT) payment files.
11. Identifies opportunities for process efficiencies and implements changes.
12. Participates in digital transformation projects.
13. Performs other duties within competence, as assigned.

Let’s Talk About You:
1. A minimum of one-year post-secondary education (training) including introductory accounting courses.
2. A minimum one-year experience working in Accounts Payable.
3. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications; knowledge of Microsoft D365 is considered an asset.
4. Comfortable using AI-enabled productivity tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
5. Self-starter who demonstrates initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
6. Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely processing.
7. Superior time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
8. Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
9. The demonstrated ability to collect, compare and analyze all information and figures, while using creative and strategic approaches to solve complex problems and concepts.
10. The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.

Working Conditions:
1. General office environment.
2. May be required to work overtime.
Salary Range:  Min: $47,649 to $65,573
