What This Role Looks Like
- Lead and mentor a team of PLC/SCADA programmers, providing technical direction, coaching, and performance oversight
- Own programming standards and best practices across new products and technology initiatives
- Provide senior-level programming expertise and control system design for small to medium sized oil and gas installations throughout Western Canada, including heavy oil applications
- Oversee and contribute to programming of SCADA products and support of these systems (Allen Bradley PLCs, SCADAPack, Bristol, ROC, Kimray)
- Oversee and contribute to programming of HMI-related products ( SCADAvantage, ClearSCADA)
- Coordinate communications (radio, cellular, etc.) and networking work across the team
- Act as a point of escalation for complex or high-priority client programming issues
- Support resource planning and scheduling for the programming team across projects
- Based in the Lloydminster office, supporting the Lloydminster area primarily. May be required to support other Alberta branches, servicing customers spread throughout Western Canada as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years programming in the field on Oil and Gas sites, including demonstrated experience leading or mentoring other programmers
- Direct oil and gas industry experience is required; experience with heavy oil applications is strongly preferred
- Prior team lead, supervisory, or management experience is a strong asset
- Journeyman or Apprentice Instrumentation/Electrician Technician qualifications would be an asset
- Hands-on experience with installation of control systems is an asset
- Strong customer service and communication skills, including experience representing the team with clients
- Demonstrated experience working outdoors in all climatic conditions and sometimes in remote locations
- Capable of working efficiently under pressure in a sometimes physically demanding environment, and able to support the team through the same

Pay: $135,000.00-$145,000.00 per year
