Job Description:
AV Installation Technician Team Member
For over 40 years Horizon has installed professional audio, lighting and video systems for clients. In order to meet the increased demands Horizon Solutions is seeking to expand our abilities to service these areas better as well as put in place the structure required to grow even further in the future.
Horizon Solutions is looking for an adaptive individual who can perform both professional installations while also professionally represent Horizon Solutions' level of excellence and customer service when on site.
A successful member of our installation team will work as part of an installation crew performing the physically installation of professional loudspeakers, amplifiers, processors, video projectors, digital signage, video distribution, wire infrastructure, control systems, theatrical and stage lighting, live stream video systems and acoustic treatment.
The position requires installation skills akin to those used by a general contractor with a focus on professional technology.
- Equal comfort working with hand tools and a keyboard is a must.
- This position requires an attention to detail and excellence.

- Every project is different and every system is customized.
Qualifications:
Experience
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Experience with pulling wire in new and renovation applications is helpful
- General understanding of construction principals
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College level diploma in theatre technology, audio recording or broadcast is beneficial however not required
Certifications
- Red Cross First Aid training is beneficial
- Elevated work platform (lift) training & fall arrest training is beneficial
- Valid G Class Drivers License is required for this position
Skills
- Strong communication skills to confidently explain information and converse with other team members and clients
- Organizational skills to effectively process all paperwork/products
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills is a benefit
NOTE: Applicants may be requested to display their abilities with tools in a follow up interview.
Working Conditions:
- Most technical work to be completed in client’s locations
- Some travel is required
- Some overnight stays are required
- Safety shoes required
- Hearing protection may be required for some event work
- Ladder work and elevated work platform (lift) work is required
- Horizon Solutions is located on Huron St in London
Work Hours:
- Typically 8am – 5pm
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime is regular and paid at time and a half over 8hrs / day or 40hrs / week
- Weekend work is not typical
