Case Worker
Contract, Full-time hours (6 months minimum)

Victim Services of Middlesex-London (VSML) is an organization providing practical assistance and emotional support to help victims of crime and tragic circumstances and contributes to a safe and healthy community through collaboration and cooperation with Police and Emergency Service Personnel. VSML provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and together we can make a difference.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Coordinator of Services, the Case Worker is responsible for supporting the needs of victims of crime and tragic circumstance as well as provide a full range of trauma-informed, victim centered and culturally competent supportive services. The Case Worker will also provide needs assessment, crisis intervention, case coordination, information sharing, emotional support and referrals to other community services in accordance with agency policies and procedures, by-laws, Ministry contracts, and Program applications. This position is also responsible to work with and support the Victim Services Crisis Responder Volunteer Team.
This is a full-time contract for 6 months min. The hours of work for this position will be up to 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be scheduled to Monday to Friday but may work some evenings, weekends, and be on call as required. Upon completion of this contract, the continuation of this position will be re-evaluated based on the needs of the program.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a social work, social services, sociology, or victimology discipline or related field and/or 1 year of social services with experience in crisis response
- 2 years of experience with survivors of trauma
- Case management experience required
- Demonstrated understanding of victim issues, judicial process and community resources
- Knowledgeable of Human Trafficking issues and needs
- Sensitive to the dynamics of culture, gender, socio-economic status and their interaction with victimization, the criminal justice system and the experiences of survivors of trauma
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)/crisis intervention training is an asset
- Valid Ontario (G) Driver’s Licence and use of a personal vehicle
- Current Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR certificate
- Bilingual in French is an asset
Location
This position is based out of 601 Dundas Street, London, Ontario, however travel throughout the geographical areas of London and Middlesex County including the three Indigenous Territories is required.

Pay: $26.00-$31.00 per hour
