We are looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join our Structured Finance lending team. This is a full-time, in office role based in London, Ontario.
As a Portfolio Analyst, you will directly support the stability and growth of the Bank’s high-performing product offerings within the Structured Receivable Program. You will be responsible for providing credit analysis, portfolio data mining and modeling, and data insights that inform credit underwriting and strategic decision-making. You will also prepare detailed financial reports, support compliance monitoring, and contribute to special projects as required.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the underwriting and preparation of credit applications as per policy and procedure manuals.
- Assist with ongoing portfolio management.
- Provide analysis of third-party reporting that includes financial statements, portfolio reports, A/R reporting, recovery reports, etc., and analyze for structure adequacy, delinquency trends, client procedure changes and other credit information.
- Perform sensitivity analysis, data mining, and build models using the internal data warehouse to identify performance trends.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all credit and other risks are adequately identified in credit correspondences, and that credit structure mitigants are recommended.
- Ensure aspects of increased risks are identified and communicated to the appropriate levels in all instances where portfolio performance deterioration or potential loss has been identified.
- Ensure legal documentation and security registrations are up to date and accurate.
- Ensure that assigned credit reviews are completed on a timely basis, and necessary approvals for extensions are obtained.
- Comment on monthly compliance reports and inquire with clients where there are any negative trends.
- Collaborate with internal compliance teams to solve time-sensitive issues as they arise and ensure that all terms and conditions established with clients are adhered to.
- Make recommendations to policies and procedures where either market conditions warrant or operational efficiencies can be realized without increasing business risk.
- Join Portfolio Managers on client calls and meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Business degree or related post-secondary education.
- CFA, MBA or equivalent professional designation or experience preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in consumer or commercial credit analysis, portfolio analytics, or structured finance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, accounting principles, credit application preparation, and advanced excel modelling.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
