Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: 2068 Piper Lane / 290 Sovereign Road
Reports to: Vice President
The Project Engineer, reporting to the Vice President, works closely with Quality, Manufacturing and Production to support and improve manufacturing operations, including developing processes, performing and documenting work instructions and identify improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
· Support all phases of the manufacturing process for product being built, including: product quality, cost improvements, on-time delivery, and product manufacturability.
· Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancement of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
· Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
· Actively support manufacturing in any problems with equipment and processes.
· Identify improvement opportunities (reduce cost, eliminate wastes, improve cycle time and capacity, improve production flow, reduce raw material consumption, etc.)
· Creating and issuing fully detailed manufacturing instructions including applicable metrology and inspection plans.
· Provide documentation support (manage change documentation system, work instructions, process flow charts) as required by manufacturing.
· Performing Time and Motion studies and maintaining manufacturing Time Standards data. · Investigation of non-conformance to determine root causes and develop and implement corrective action with follow-up as required.
· Contributes to the development of work instructions, equipment logs, material specifications and other tracking documents.
· Collaborating with configuration control and design engineering regarding product tooling and design to ensure effective production methods.
· Working closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate and implement technical training for employees.
· Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, shop order, and concepts in accordance with quality functions.
Administration

· Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees.
· Perform all other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
· Must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Security Assessment Application as per Section 15 of the Controlled Goods Regulations, SOR/2001-32.
· A 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in CNC/CAM, Manufacturing/Engineering, or equivalent
· Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills.
· Strong skills in manufacturing and processing engineering with knowledge of machining, welding and fabrication.
· Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Mastercam v9+ an asset.
