We're hiring a Maintenance Planner at Conifex Timber Inc. to join our team in Mackenzie, BC.
As an integral part of the Mackenzie Team, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning plant maintenance activities to achieve the plant reliability targets in a safe and cost effective manner. The Maintenance Planner plans project needs for major turnarounds, schedules, and coordinates activities for preventative maintenance of all plant assets and collaborates with the Maintenance Superintendent in overseeing maintenance staff and contractors assigned to designated projects.
The Maintenance Planner's primary responsibilities include assisting in implementing a maintenance management system, inspecting facilities for deficiencies, preparing reports and work orders, and file management and asset history tracking through our CMMS, Synergen.
Other responsibilities include reviewing requests for service and determining if a problem can be solved in-house. If it can, the Maintenance Planner performs or assigns the repair work to maintenance staff, setting priorities, and participating in job tasks as necessary, or makes a recommendation on a need for outside contractors, including preparing bid specifications.
The Maintenance Planner also plans labour and material costs for designated maintenance and repair projects, including ordering materials, obtaining outside bids, reading blueprints, and planning other project needs. As such, a solid understanding of performance management, continuous improvement processes, and knowledge of optimization equipment and processes is important for all candidates.
Safety is important to us at Conifex, so we're looking for candidates with experience in safety management, who are capable of ensuring that all their workers have appropriate training and instruction and are performing their work correctly and receive prompt feedback and coaching to ensure high safety standards. Part of the Maintenance Planner's role is to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies and to ensure that all employees are aware of all reasonably foreseeable health and safety risks and have a strong understanding of the work process, hazards involved, and effective control measures.
We require a Grade 12 education or equivalent as well as training in CMMS. We would consider a Millwright Trade Certification to be an asset, but it is not a strict requirement. We value your proven skills in safety management, leadership, and development more, and we would like to see at least 3 years' of experience, including supervisory experience, in an industrial maintenance setting from all applicants.
This is a full-time position, with a 40-hour work week from Monday to Friday and a $106,500 annual salary. The successful candidate would need to either live in or be willing to relocate to Mackenzie, BC.
If you're interested in this role, please apply by submitting an application through the form on this page of our website. We look forward to hearing from you.
