Full job description

KWB Chartered Professional Accountants Inc. is a growing public accounting firm providing accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base across multiple industries. We are committed to delivering exceptional client service while fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Technician to join our bookkeeping team. The successful candidate will be capable of managing multiple client files independently with minimal supervision and will be comfortable working with a variety of accounting software and cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients across various industries.
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare and post journal entries and month-end adjustments.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Prepare and file GST/HST and PST returns.
Process payroll and prepare payroll remittances, and T4s.
Maintain general ledgers and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Assist with year-end working papers and provide supporting schedules for accountants.
Review client bookkeeping records for accuracy and completeness.
Communicate professionally with clients to request information and resolve bookkeeping issues.
Assist with onboarding new bookkeeping clients and improving internal processes.
Maintain organized electronic client files and documentation.
Ensure work is completed accurately and within established deadlines.

Qualifications Required

Minimum 3 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience.
Previous experience in a CPA firm or public accounting practice is strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency with: QuickBooks Online & Desktop, Sage 50, Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of: General accounting principles, Bank reconciliations, Payroll, GST/HST, Financial statement preparation
Ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred

Accounting diploma or degree.
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset.
Experience with CaseWare Working Papers.
Experience working with small and medium-sized businesses.
