About the role
Reports to the Site Manager, the First Class Chief Power Engineer & Environmental Manager will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of energy systems while leading all aspects of site environmental activities. This person will chip in to optimizing energy performance and reducing environmental impact.
Operations and Maintenance

Oversee powerhouse operations (boilers, steam, water systems, and utilities)

Plan shutdowns, inspections, and preventive/corrective maintenance

Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards

Optimize equipment performance and reliability
Environmental Management
-
Manage environmental programs (air, water, waste, GHGs)
-
Ensure compliance with environmental laws and permits
-
Lead audits and regulatory reporting
-
Implement continuous improvement initiatives
Health & Safety
-
Promoting a strong safety culture
-
Ensure safe operating procedures are followed
-
Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions
Team Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop team members
-
Plan schedules and ensure operational coverage
-
Ensure required training and certifications
Continuous Improvement

Identify and lead energy efficiency and emission reduction projects

Track performance standards and recommend improvements
Requirements
-
Valid 1st Class Power Engineer certification (mandatory)

5–10 years of experience in an industrial environment
-
Experience in team leadership and regulatory compliance
Assets

Higher education in engineering or environmental field

Knowledge of ISO 14001

GIMLI, CANADA: SALARY RANGE IS FROM $92,250 TO $153,750 (ANNUAL)
