Reh-Fit is seeking a collaborative, approachable and strategic finance professional to join its leadership team as Director of Finance and Accounting.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Finance and Accounting is a key member of the leadership team and a trusted financial advisor to the CEO, Centre and Foundation Boards of Directors, department heads, and accounting team.
The successful candidate will oversee the organization’s financial operations while helping others understand the financial information behind important decisions. This role is well suited to a leader who enjoys working alongside people, sharing knowledge and making financial concepts accessible to colleagues who may not have a finance background.
What You Will Do
· Provide strategic financial leadership and advice to the CEO, department heads, the Centre and Foundation Boards of Directors.
· Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads, finance committees, and accounting team.
· Translate financial information into clear, practical guidance that helps others make informed decisions.
· Oversee accounting, financial reporting, cash flow, investments, internal controls, and the annual external audit.
· Maintain strong financial and information-system controls to protect the accuracy, integrity, and security of organizational data.
· Manage enterprise risk management, including risk policies, business continuity, privacy, insurance including compliance with applicable government, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
· Oversee vendor relationships, service contracts, and strategic partner agreements.
· Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the accounting team.
· Oversee payroll, employee benefits administration, and related financial processes.
· Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and organizational effectiveness.
· Contribute actively to Reh-Fit programs, initiatives, meetings, and special events as a visible and engaged member of the organization.
· Review proposed programs and organizational initiatives to ensure financial assumptions, costs, risks, funding requirements, and long-term implications have been fully considered, providing advice and constructive challenge before decisions are made.

Qualifications and Experience
· Chartered Professional Accountant designation and membership in good standing with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Manitoba.
· Completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
· Minimum 5 years of progressive financial management or senior financial leadership experience.
· Experience overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audit, and internal controls.
· Experience managing and developing staff and building effective teams.
· Experience in a not-for-profit, membership-based or volunteer-governed organization is an asset.
· Experience working in a unionized environment or interpreting collective agreements is an asset.
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, and financial management or accounting systems (Business Central is an asset).
· Excellent communication, relationship-building, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
