We are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill a full-time, regular position of District Clerk to work within the department of Environment and Climate Change in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba.
Cranberry Portage is located approximately 90 km north of The Pas, MB and approximately 725 km north of Winnipeg.

Duties:
This position involves processing financial transactions, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable while maintaining accurate and confidential financial records. Responsibilities include preparing and processing invoices, receipts, and payments, as well as supporting timekeeping entries and payroll-related tasks. This position also serves as a key financial clerical resource for branch and division staff by responding to inquiries and resolving financial issues. In addition, the role provides general clerical and administrative support as needed; Acting as a financial clerical liaison/resource for branch/division staff, i.e., responding to inquiries and resolving financial issues.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience performing administrative and clerical duties, including reception, answering phones, records management, filing, data entry, and other similar duties as required.
- Experience working with the public and providing customer service to a diverse clientele
- Experience performing accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and/or creating financial reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to provide information in a clear and concise manner
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare, edit and format correspondence with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience interpreting and applying policies and/or procedures.
Desired:
- Completion of a Business Administration and/or Accounting Diploma or Certificate.
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA (Financial Module) or an equivalent financial management software.
- Experience in processing payroll and timekeeping.
- Ability to fluently read, write, and speak French.
