Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, certified Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Technician 2 to join our team at Western Surgery Centre. This role is vital in ensuring the safe and effective sterilization and reprocessing of medical instruments and devices used in patient care.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and reprocessing of a wide range of medical devices and instruments following strict established protocols.
Assist in Operating Room (OR) cleaning and efficient room turnover between surgical cases to maintain clinic flow and strict safety standards.
Inspect, test, and assemble reprocessed devices to ensure they meet our rigorous quality and safety standards.
Operate and maintain sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, washer-disinfectors, and other specialized machinery.
Adhere strictly to infection control policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Collaborate closely with clinical staff to ensure the timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures.
Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels.
Receive and confirm incoming deliveries and supplies, assisting with inventory management and tracking stock levels.

Qualifications & Requirements

MDR Certification is required (Must hold a recognized Canadian Medical Device Reprocessing certification/training program aligned with CSA standards).
Legal Eligibility: Must be currently eligible to work in Canada. Please note: We are unable to provide international sponsorship for this position.
Prior experience in medical device reprocessing or a high-volume surgical environment is preferred.
A strong, proactive work ethic and the ability to thrive in a busy, efficient clinic.
Knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret instructions and documentation.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and safety protocols consistently.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Schedule & Flexibility

Hours: Primarily daytime, weekday hours.
Flexibility: To support our surgical team and clinic volumes, off-peak hours and Saturday shifts may be required on an as-needed basis.
