Full job description

Join TutorBright as an ASD/Special Education Tutor-Mentor, supporting students through personalized academic guidance, mentorship, and learning strategies. This part-time opportunity allows you to shape your schedule while working one-on-one with students in-home and making a meaningful impact on their confidence, learning, and academic progress.

Responsibilities:

Conduct personalized tutoring sessions based on each student’s academic goals, learning needs, and support requirements.
Support students with ASD, learning differences, or special education needs using patient, flexible, and structured teaching strategies.
Be a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, overcome challenges, and develop stronger learning habits.
Adapt lessons, communication, pacing, and activities to match individual learning styles and needs.

Qualifications:

Experience supporting students with ASD, special education needs, learning differences, or diverse learning profiles.
Previous tutoring, teaching, educational assistant, childcare, or youth-support experience is considered an asset.
Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to creating a supportive, encouraging, and positive learning environment.
Ability to adapt teaching strategies and provide individualized support.

Requirements:

Ability to provide in-home tutoring.
Located in Winnipeg, preferably in or near the Central Winnipeg/Wolseley area.
Reliable transportation.
Current or willingness to obtain a vulnerable sector police check.
ASD experience is strongly preferred.

Additional Assets:

Graduate of or currently enrolled in a B.Ed., B.Sc., Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, Special Education, or related program.
Certified Teacher.
Experience working as an Educational Assistant, Behavioural Interventionist, Respite Worker, or Support Worker.
Experience supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, executive functioning challenges, or other learning needs.
