Location: Heritage Tea Room
Position: Assistant Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

The Heritage Tea Room is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our tea room. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, leading a team, and creating an exceptional guest experience in a welcoming and professional environment.

The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Manager to oversee daily operations, support staff, maintain food safety standards, and ensure excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Assist with the daily operation of the tea room, including front and back-of-house activities.
Lead and support team members to provide outstanding customer service.
Assist with staff scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
Ensure food quality, presentation, and service standards are consistently maintained.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies and products.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve concerns professionally.
Support cash handling procedures and daily reconciliations.
Assist with special events, catering functions, and seasonal promotions as required.
Step into a leadership role in the Manager's absence.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in food service, hospitality, or restaurant supervision.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Experience with scheduling, training, and coaching staff is an asset.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Flexible availability, including occasional weekends and special events.
Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
