Veterinary Receptionist (Part-Time)
We are currently looking for a friendly, reliable, and motivated Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! This is a part-time position offering approximately 20–30 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Starting wage is $17.00 per hour, with consideration given for experience.
Job Overview
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and patients while helping support the daily flow of the clinic. This role combines reception duties with hands-on patient support, including assisting in exam rooms, taking patient histories for the veterinarian, and safely restraining cats and dogs when needed.
A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and patients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage client communications
- Process payments and maintain accurate patient records
- Assist veterinarians and technicians in exam rooms when needed
- Obtain patient histories and relay information to the veterinarian
- Safely restrain cats and dogs for examinations and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of reception and exam areas
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and their pets
- Support the team with general clinic duties as required
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable handling and restraining cats and dogs
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment
- Veterinary experience is considered an asset
- Customer service experience is considered an asset
- Completion of a Veterinary Office Assistant (VOA) course is helpful
- Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn veterinary software systems
