Full job description

The City of Martensville is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada and we have an opening for a Permanent, Full-time Recreation Program Coordinator I.

Reporting to the Manager of Recreation and Facilities, the Recreation Program Coordinator I will be responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating and development of community recreation programs, facility rentals, and special events. The role focuses on supporting effective program implementation, participant engagement and customer service.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

Post secondary course in Recreation, Leisure Services or a related field.
Minimum one year experience in a recreation setting, including familiarity with community programming and recreation-based scheduling software.
Strong customer service approach with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and members of the public.
Ability to organize tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, make effective decisions, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, while recognizing when issues should be escalated to a supervisor.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
Collaborates effectively with colleagues, volunteers and community partners in support of program and organizational goals.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment while maintaining a safety-first mentality.
Demonstrates respect, cooperation, and the ability to work effectively with others by valuing diversity, understanding differences, and fostering positive team relationships across all departments.
Must maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License, and is responsible to reimburse the City for any insurance surcharges levied because of driving offences

Hours of Work:

This is typically a Tuesday to Saturday position hours between 10:00am-7:00pm. Evening and weekend hours will be required.

WagesBenefits:

As per the CUPE LOCAL 2582 Collective Agreement: 2026 Probationary Rate - $24.65/hour
A competitive Group Benefits package in addition to an annual $600 Health Spending Account as well as participation in the Municipal Employees Pension Plan (MEPP), a Defined Benefit Pension Plan ensuring long-term retirement financial stability.
