Job Description: Mobile Crushing Crew Operator

Position Summary
King Rock Aggregates is seeking an experienced and motivated Mobile Crushing Crew Operator to join our growing mobile crushing and screening team. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of crushing equipment and heavy machinery at various customer sites throughout Southern Ontario.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in aggregate crushing operations, be committed to workplace safety, and be willing to travel extensively to support our mobile operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor mobile crushing and screening equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate large wheel loaders and excavators to feed crushers and manage stockpiles.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and routine servicing.
- Monitor material quality and production to meet customer specifications.
- Assist with crushing plant setup, relocation, and teardown.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report equipment deficiencies.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
- Work effectively with supervisors, mechanics, truck drivers, and fellow crew members.
- Complete required inspection reports, maintenance logs, and production documentation.
- Represent King Rock Aggregates professionally while working at customer locations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a crushing or aggregate production environment.
- Experience operating large wheel loaders and hydraulic excavators.
- Strong understanding of crushing plant operations and material processing.
- Ability to identify equipment issues and perform basic maintenance.
- Valid Class G driver's licence with reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ontario Surface Miner Common Core Training (or willingness to obtain) is considered a strong asset.
- Additional heavy equipment certifications are considered an asset.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel approximately 60–80% throughout Southern Ontario.
- Overnight travel will be required based on project locations.
- Company-provided travel accommodations.
- Daily per diem provided while working away from home.
Compensation & Schedule
- Base wage: $30.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- Typical work schedule of 40–50 hours per week.
- Overtime opportunities available based on project requirements.
- Company-paid accommodations and per diem for travel assignments.
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Lift up to 50 lbs when required.
- Climb ladders and access heavy equipment safely.
- Stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labour throughout the workday.
- Work in dusty, noisy, and uneven terrain while maintaining safe work practices.
