Quality Control Coordinator – Reforestation Seedling Nursery

Department: Operations / Quality Assurance

Reports To: Nursery Manager / Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for ensuring seedling quality, inventory accuracy, packaging compliance, and shipment verification throughout the production and harvest cycle. This position supports operational excellence by conducting inspections, documenting quality findings, maintaining records, and ensuring customer specifications and industry standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct seedling quality inspections during growing, harvest, storage, and shipping operations.
Verify seedling specifications including size, health, moisture content, root condition, and overall quality.
Perform harvest quality audits and document findings.
Confirm shipping quantities, box counts, labels, and customer order accuracy.
Capture photographic documentation of crops, shipments, and quality concerns.
Complete quality reports, inspection records, and corrective action documentation.
Monitor freezer and cold storage conditions and verify product traceability.
Work closely with greenhouse, harvest, shipping, and inventory teams.
Investigate quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, greenhouse, nursery, or quality control environments preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital recordkeeping systems.
Valid driver’s license considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in greenhouse, warehouse, freezer, and outdoor environments. Must be capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs as required.

Working Conditions

Fast-paced seasonal production environment with increased activity during harvest and shipping periods. Work may include weekends and extended hours during peak operational periods.

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
