Position Overview
As an LPN specializing in Critical Care and Emergency Nursing, you will provide skilled nursing care to patients requiring timely assessments, clinical interventions, and ongoing monitoring.
You will work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe and effective patient care in high-acuity environments.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing nursing care to patients in Emergency Department, ER, and Critical Care environments
- Performing patient assessments and monitoring changes in patient condition
- Supporting emergency interventions and acute patient care needs
- Administering medications and treatments according to clinical standards
- Assisting with procedures and clinical interventions within LPN scope of practice
- Collaborating with physicians, Registered Nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
- Recognizing and responding to changes in patient status
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Following facility policies, safety standards, and infection prevention practices
Qualifications
Successful candidates must have:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) registration in a Canadian province or territory
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department, ER, Critical Care, or acute care experience
- Current ACLS certification (required)
- Current BLS certification
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience working in fast-paced hospital environments
- Ability to prioritize multiple patient care needs
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to travel for contract assignments across Canada
