Position Description:
Next Step Residential Services is seeking a dedicated, organized, and collaborative Program Coordinator to support the effective development, coordination, and delivery of programs and services for the individuals we serve.
The Program Coordinator provides leadership and operational support to ensure services are person-centred, responsive, consistent, safe, and aligned with individual needs, organizational policies, contractual requirements, and applicable legislation.
This position works collaboratively with individuals, families, guardians, staff, support and respite homes, community partners, funders, and other agencies. The successful candidate will bring strong communication, organization, problem-solving, leadership, and relationship-building skills, along with a genuine commitment to supporting individuals to achieve meaningful outcomes and participate fully in their communities.
The Program Coordinators role includes but is not limited to:
- Maintain accurate, timely, confidential, and complete documentation and records in accordance with organizational requirements.
- Development, coordinate and implement support plans and services that respond to the individual needs, goals, preferences, and circumstances of individuals served.
- Organize and facilitate annual case conferences for individuals on the assigned caseload and coordinate follow-up actions as required.
- Prepare, develop, and submit proposals, reports, and other required documentation in a timely, accurate, and effective manner.
- Monitor service delivery to ensure programs and supports are consistent with individual plans, organizational expectations, contractual obligations, and applicable requirements.
- Support individuals with financial-management processes within the scope of the organization's policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular communication with individuals, families, guardians, staff, community representatives, funders, and other agencies as required.
Staff Leadership, Training and Support
- Provide leadership, guidance, and day-to-day program support to staff to promote effective and consistent service delivery and promote professional, respectful, person-centred practices among staff.
- Provide orientation and training to new employees and ongoing training and support to staff as required.
- Maintain regular communication and consistent meetings with support and respite homes to discuss service delivery, individual needs, concerns, and emerging issues.
- Participate in staff meetings and management meetings and provide program-related information, guidance, and follow-up.
- Contribute to staff performance monitoring, evaluation, coaching, and development in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Degree in Human Services, Disability Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Community Rehabilitation, Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience working in human services, disability services, community-based services, social services, or a related environment. Required minimum of two years experience in the human services field; Previous supervisory experience required and ability to coordinate and lead a team.
- Foundations in Community Disability Studies Certificate; Equivalent knowledge and experience are considered upon application.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or other relevant computer systems and electronic documentation platforms
