Job Description

The Class 5 5-ton City Pick up & Delivery driver is responsible for:

Completing local deliveries within Melfort and the surrounding area in a timely and efficient manner
Operating and maintaining a 5-ton delivery truck in accordance with company policies and local regulations
Planning and optimizing delivery routes to ensure on-time performance and fuel efficiency
Loading and unloading cargo safely, using proper lifting techniques and equipment when necessary
Verifying shipments against delivery orders and reporting any discrepancies
Collecting signatures and payments for deliveries when required
Maintaining accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance
Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members
Adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations while representing the company professionally
Assisting with warehouse duties such as inventory management and order preparation as needed
Reporting any accidents, injuries, or safety concerns immediately to management
Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle at all times
Participating in regular safety meetings and training sessions

A normal work week will be Monday to Friday; however, some flexibility in availability will occasionally be required to meet delivery demands and customer needs.

Qualifications

Class 5 license
1 year of Pick-up & Delivery experience
Physically Fit
Reliable and dependable
TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are assets
Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 work-related references.
