Venor is proud to partner with Heritage Management in their search for an Accounting & Payroll Coordinator to join their team.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build a long-term career within a stable, well-established organization. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting & Payroll Coordinator will play an important role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business, supporting accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations, month-end activities, and other accounting functions. Payroll is an important component of the role, but equally important is supporting the overall accounting team and contributing wherever needed.

What You'll Be Doing

Support the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable processing, invoice entry, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.
Process and administer a biweekly payroll across four entities, ensuring payroll is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable legislation.
Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare supporting schedules for month-end and year-end financial reporting.
Assist with accounts receivable activities and other general accounting responsibilities as required.
Prepare payroll remittances and ensure compliance with CRA requirements, including source deductions, T4s, Records of Employment, annual filings, and audit-ready documentation.
Maintain payroll, accounting, and employee records with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
Develop and maintain Excel-based schedules and working papers to support financial reporting and year-end processes.
Coordinate administrative compliance activities, including vehicle registrations and federal government security clearances.
Support employee onboarding and offboarding from an administrative perspective.
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and provide administrative support to the broader team.
Monitor recurring deadlines, maintain organized documentation, and help improve accounting and payroll processes through continuous improvement.
Contribute to a collaborative team environment where flexibility and a willingness to support different areas of the business are valued.

What We're Looking For

3–5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll experience in a private-sector environment.
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Experience processing full-cycle payroll; multi-company or multi-entity payroll experience is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including reconciliations, accounts payable, and month-end processes.
Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and CRA requirements; PCP designation or payroll certification is considered an asset.
Strong Excel skills with experience using Sage or similar accounting software.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize recurring deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to reconcile discrepancies and identify issues proactively.
Highly organized with excellent time management and the ability to work independently.
Professional, discreet, and trustworthy when handling confidential financial and employee information.
A team-oriented individual who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is willing to support a variety of accounting and administrative functions.
Must be eligible to obtain a Federal Government Security Clearance.
