We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team.
Position Profile
The Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in the administration, coordination and continuous improvement of Wildlife Rescue’s Volunteer Program. This position combines volunteer management with data analysis, program administration, reporting and process improvement. Working closely with the Volunteer Program Manager, the coordinator monitors volunteer metrics, maintains program’s database, identify trends and gaps and supports with volunteer retention, scheduling, and engagement.

32 hours per week, permanent, in-person at our Burnaby location
Compensation
$21.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and expertise.

Who WE are Established in 1979, the Wildlife Rescue Association of BC is a leader in wildlife rehabilitation and is committed to educating the public about peaceful coexistence with wildlife. Based in Burnaby, BC, we are Western Canada’s busiest wildlife rehabilitation centre, admitting over 5,000 animal patients each year.

Our Volunteer Program
Our Volunteer Program currently supports around 200 active volunteers who contribute over 17,000 hours per year across a wide range of roles including animal care, helpline, admissions, videography, photography, communications, outreach, and more.
The Volunteer Program is a dynamic, boots-on-the-ground operation that runs 365 days a year with seasonally adapting hours of operations.

Highlight of Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, audit and manage an up-to-date volunteer database (Better Impact)
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures and program materials
- Prepare reports and analyze volunteer program data and KPIs
- Develop and implement strategies to improve volunteer engagement, recognition and retention
- Manage and update volunteer schedules
- Support the day-to-day operations of a busy non-profit organization
- Respond to inquiries from prospective and current volunteers
- Gather and monitor volunteer feedback and turn findings into actionable recommendations
- Serve as a member of the Health and Safety Committee
- Collaborate with the volunteer program team and other departments to improve processes and support ongoing projects
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in administration, program coordination, volunteer management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to motivate and work with a diverse group of people
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of Better Impact or similar database is an asset
- Experience working with volunteers is an asset
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required
