What will you do?
The Sales Specialist – Engineered Drives Systems serves as the technical and commercial expert supporting Siemens Account Managers in the development and growth of the Engineered Drives business across Canada.
Working closely with Account Managers, the Sales Specialist provides application expertise, solution development, market knowledge, and customer engagement support to help identify, qualify, and win complex engineered drives opportunities. The role collaborates extensively with customers, consultants, EPCs, system integrators, OEMs, channel partners, and Siemens factories to position Siemens solutions and drive profitable growth.
The successful candidate acts as a trusted advisor to both customers and Account Managers, ensuring Siemens is well positioned on strategic projects, modernization initiatives, and lifecycle service opportunities.
Support Account Managers in Business Development
- Partner closely with Account Managers to develop and execute growth strategies for the Engineered Drives Systems portfolio.
- Support Account Managers in identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities within strategic accounts and target industries.
- Assist Account Managers in building executive, technical, and commercial relationships with customers and industry stakeholders.
- Support customer engagement activities throughout the sales cycle, from specification and solution development through proposal and project award.
- Work collaboratively with Account Managers and the Construction Sales Team to increase Siemens market share and strengthen customer relationships.
- Support major industrial, energy, construction, and infrastructure projects across Canada.
Technical Sales Support & Solution Development
- Provide specialized technical and application expertise to support Account Managers during customer engagements.
- Understand customer processes, operational requirements, project specifications, and business objectives to develop value-based solutions.
- Support the development of engineered drives solutions, technical proposals, and customer presentations.
- Collaborate with Siemens engineering, application, and factory teams to develop customized solutions for complex applications.
- Conduct technical workshops, solution reviews, and product demonstrations alongside Account Managers.
Support Strategic Customer and Industry Development
- Working with Account Managers, support business development initiatives across industries including: Mining, Metals, Battery Manufacturing and Emerging Industries, Oil & Gas, Energy and Utilities, Water & Wastewater, Construction, Infrastructure, Marine, Chemicals and Process Industries, Manufacturing and Industrial Processing etc
- Support the development of opportunities with: End Users, Engineering Consultants, EPCs, System Integrators, OEMs, Channel Partners and Distributors
Drive Growth in Key Applications
Support Account Managers in expanding Siemens Engineered Drives business within applications such as: Large Pumps, Fans and Blowers, Compressors, Conveyors, Hoisting Systems, Crane Applications, Mining and Material Handling Systems, Water and Wastewater Infrastructure, Industrial Process Applications etc.
Digitalization & Modernizations
- Support customer initiatives focused on improving reliability, energy efficiency, productivity, cybersecurity, and operational performance.
- Promote Siemens Drive Train Analytics, digitalization solutions, monitoring technologies, and lifecycle services.
- Help Account Managers develop long-term customer engagement strategies and recurring business opportunities.
- Assist Account Managers in identifying modernization, and lifecycle service opportunities.
Opportunity & CRM Management
- Support Account Managers in maintaining a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Ensure opportunities, forecasts, customer activities, and account plans are accurately maintained in Siemens CRM systems.
- Assist with opportunity strategy development, competitive positioning, and pursuit planning.
- Provide regular updates on business development activities, project status, and market opportunities.
Market Intelligence, Competitive Positioning & Industry Engagement:
- Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitive activity.
- Support Account Managers with competitive analysis and win strategies.
- Identify emerging applications, technologies, and market opportunities that align with Siemens growth objectives.
- Share market intelligence and best practices across the sales organization.
- Support Account Managers in customer events, seminars, trade shows, workshops, and industry conferences.
- Represent Siemens as a technical subject matter expert for Engineered Drives Systems solutions.
- Collaborate with marketing and business unit teams to promote Siemens technologies and strengthen market presence.
What will you need to succeed?
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineering designation is considered an asset.
- 5 years + Business development experience in variable frequency drives, motors, motion control, power systems, or engineered solutions.
- Experience supporting complex technical sales opportunities and major industrial projects.
- Experience working with Account Managers, customers, consultants, EPCs, system integrators, OEMs, and channel partners.
- Strong customer relationship and business development capabilities.

Success in this Role
Success in this role is measured by the specialist's ability to enable Account Managers to win complex engineered drives opportunities, increase customer engagement, expand market coverage, strengthen industry relationships, and drive sustainable growth of the Engineered Drives Systems portfolio across Canada.
[Salary is commensurate with experience, and total compensation ranges between $150,000.00 CAD - $170,000.00 CAD including participation in our Sales Incentive Plan, contingent on achievement of sales targets as defined and updated from time to time by the Company.]
