Lancor Concrete Contractors Ltd. Is a formwork contractor who specializes in commercial and industrial projects all throughout Atlantic Canada. We are currently looking for a tower crane operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Tower Crane Operator is to safely operate a tower crane to lift, move, and position materials and equipment on construction sites. The Tower Crane Operator will play a vital role in the timely and efficient completion of construction projects.

Job Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate tower crane to lift, move and position heavy construction materials such as formwork modular systems, concrete and steel
Follow local regulations for safe operation and maintenance of tower cranes
Conduct pre-operational checks and maintenance of the crane to ensure safe functionality. Report any malfunctions or issues to the site supervisor
Maintain accurate records of crane operations, maintenance and inspections
Communicate with supervision and ground crews to ensure clear and effective communication during crane operations
Understand load limits and operate within the crane's rated capacity to prevent accidents
Safely operate crane under various weather conditions and challenging work environments, such as high winds or congested work sites
Assist in the erection and dismantling of tower cranes

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years operating tower cranes ten (10) tons or larger
Hold a valid Tower Crane Operators License
Experience operating tower cranes on busy construction sites
Strong technical knowledge of crane operations, load charts, safety protocols, and construction site procedures
Ability to work at heights for extended periods. Good physical health and stamina are required to handle demanding tasks.
Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate with site supervisors, ground crew, and other team members.
High level of attention to detail, particularly with load management, equipment checks, and safety procedures.
Able to work some overtime as required
Work in different weather situations and site conditions
Ability and willingness to travel (usual return home for weekends)
