Position Summary
We are currently seeking a passionate, experienced, and motivated Daycare Director to lead our childcare centre in Miramichi. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare and educational programming, while maintaining a positive and supportive environment for children, families, and staff.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a deep commitment to early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the childcare centre, including staffing, scheduling, and program management.
- Lead, mentor, and support educators and staff to maintain high performance and professional growth.
- Develop and implement quality educational programs aligned with early childhood education standards and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all provincial licensing, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children of all backgrounds and abilities.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care, learning experiences, and centre operations.
- Support staff training, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
- Collaborate with community partners and external agencies to enhance program quality and services.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in early childhood education, childcare management, or a leadership role within a childcare setting.
- Strong leadership, team management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of childcare regulations, licensing requirements, and health & safety standards.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs and abilities is considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Relevant certification or education in Early Childhood Education, Childcare Management, or a related field is preferred.

- Salary will be competitive and based on qualifications and experience.
