We are seeking a passionate, creative, and organized Transition Academy Teacher & Camp Lead to join our team. This full-time permanent position combines leadership of our Transition Academy program during the academic year with oversight of our summer camp programming, providing meaningful year-round employment and opportunities to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families.
Position Overview
The Transition Academy Teacher & Camp Lead will oversee our classroom-based Transition Academy program during the academic year (September–June) and lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of summer camp programming during July and August.
Working closely with Registered Behaviour Analysts and Educational Assistants, this individual will create engaging learning experiences that support each learner's individualized goals while fostering independence, confidence, and readiness for future educational and community environments.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong ABA background who enjoys teaching, curriculum development, leadership, mentoring staff, and developing innovative programming.
Key Responsibilities: Transition Academy (September–June)
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to student needs and abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized academic, social, communication, and life skills programming.
- Utilize evidence-based ABA teaching strategies throughout classroom instruction.
- Assess student progress and provide ongoing feedback to support learning and skill acquisition.
- Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that promotes engagement and success.
- Collaborate with Behaviour Analysts and clinical team members to ensure consistency between educational and behavioural programming.
- Supervise and provide guidance to classroom support staff and Instructor Therapists.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, assessments, and classroom data.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
- Participate in team meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Transition Academy program.
Summer Camp Leadership (July–August)
- Plan and lead summer camp programming, including activity development, scheduling, and implementation.
- Develop engaging camp experiences that incorporate social skills, recreation, community participation, and skill-building opportunities.
- Coordinate camp themes, activities, outings, and materials.
- Supervise, mentor, and support camp staff throughout summer programming.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all participants.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to align camp programming with learner goals and company values.
- Support camp enrollment, preparation, and transition planning between school-year and summer programming.
- Maintain program documentation and communicate with families as needed.
Qualifications Required
- Diploma or degree in Behavioural Science, Autism and Behavioural Science, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Social Services, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience implementing ABA therapy in a clinical setting.
- Experience developing and implementing individualized programming for children and youth with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Strong understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles and evidence-based teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience supporting or mentoring staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community outings and camp activities.
Preferred
- Experience in an ABA clinic setting and/or classroom, educational, or group-learning environment.
- Experience leading camps, group programs, or recreational programming.
- Experience with curriculum development and educational planning.
- Knowledge of school readiness, transition planning, and life skills programming.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
