Full job description

Supervisor – Tree Planting Department
Full-time, Seasonal | Ontario, Canada

Royal Oak Services is looking for a motivated and experienced Arborist Supervisor to lead our Tree Planting Department. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll guide a team of tree planters and nursery workers while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality planting operations across Ontario.

Key Responsibilities (after training)

Plan, estimate, and coordinate labour and materials
Provide strong leadership by supervising, scheduling, training, and motivating staff
Direct day-to-day tree-planting operations and establish clear work schedules and procedures
Resolve work-related issues promptly and professionally
Order and manage materials, equipment, and supplies
Maintain accurate records and reports using Microsoft Office

Required Skills & Qualifications

Solid knowledge of Ontario tree species and tree health
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
Experience operating small engine equipment and pick-up trucks
Strong leadership and team management skills — proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire a crew
Proficiency with Microsoft Office for record-keeping and reporting
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions

Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including hot summer days
Combination of sitting, standing, and walking; standing for extended periods
Manual dexterity and ability to distinguish between colours
Comfortable working under pressure with tight deadlines

Natural team leader with initiative, sound judgement, and a client-focused approach
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively
Team player who leads by example
Able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions

Job Type: Full-time, Seasonal
Wage: $34.00 – $40.00 per hour (based on experience)
