Help Desk / IT Support Technician

Position Summary

Newmar Window Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Help Desk / IT Support Technician to provide front-line IT support across the organization. This is a fully on-site role requiring hands-on technical support in office, plant, and warehouse environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues, supporting end users, maintaining IT equipment, and assisting with day-to-day IT operations.

Work Schedule

Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Occasional after-hours and on-site support may be required based on business needs.

Work Location

81 Royal Group Crescent & 7630 Airport Road

This is an on-site position. The employee is expected to work on-site during regular business hours and provide support throughout office, plant, and warehouse areas as required.

Travel between company locations may be required. A reliable vehicle is required.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to and manage IT support requests through the company help desk ticketing system.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to workstations, user accounts, printers, software, network connectivity, Wi-Fi, and peripheral devices.
Provide hands-on support to users in office, plant, and warehouse environments.
Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in accordance with IT procedures.
Escalate complex or unresolved issues when appropriate.
Install, configure, deploy, relocate, and replace desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, and related hardware.
Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot approved software, drivers, and operating system components.
Assist with user account administration, including onboarding, offboarding, password resets, and access changes.
Support Active Directory and Google Workspace administration activities.
Maintain accurate records within the IT asset management system.
Assist with workstation imaging, endpoint configuration, patch management, and hardware replacement initiatives.
Perform workstation backup and restore activities, including systems connected to CNC equipment.
Assist with basic network support, including troubleshooting connectivity issues, cabling, switches, and Wi-Fi access points.
Collaborate with other IT team members on support requests, projects, and operational tasks.
Perform other IT-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

1–2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or a similar technical support role.
College diploma, certificate, or degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Networking, or a related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to support users at varying technical levels.
Experience supporting Windows-based workstations.
Experience supporting Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Drive, and related applications.
Experience administering Active Directory user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computers, printers, scanners, monitors, and peripherals.
Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi, switches, and connectivity troubleshooting.
Experience working with help desk ticketing systems and maintaining IT asset records.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable providing hands-on support in office, plant, warehouse, and manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with workstation imaging, patch management, backup and recovery processes, and endpoint support.
Familiarity with CAT5/CAT6 cabling, patch panels, cable testing, and Wi-Fi access points is considered an asset.
Basic Linux knowledge and scripting experience are considered assets.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Google Workspace, Microsoft, or ITIL are considered assets.
Must be able to lift, move, and install computer equipment and related peripherals.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
