We serve brilliant desserts that are handcrafted in store, with our own craft ice creams made right here in our central kitchen.

As a Bakery Supervisor / Production Supervisor at our central commissary, you will work shoulder to shoulder with our production team every single day. You will lead by example on the floor, keep the team on track, and make sure every batch that leaves our kitchen meets the standard Canadians have come to expect from Demetres for over 35 years. You will report directly to the Production Manager.

What You'll Do

Lead from the Floor: Work hands-on alongside the production team, contributing to daily baking, prep, and manufacturing tasks.
Keep Things Moving: Oversee daily production schedules and ensure output targets are met on time and to standard.
Set the Standard: Monitor product quality at every stage and hold the team accountable to our towards perfection quality benchmark.
Develop the Team: Coach, train, and support production staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Stay Compliant: Enforce food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and workplace safety procedures across the floor.
Document and Report: Track batch records, flag issues, and communicate updates to the Production Manager.
Problem Solve: Identify bottlenecks, equipment concerns, or team issues and address them proactively.

What You Bring

Hands-On Leadership: You lead by doing, not by watching from the sidelines.
Food Manufacturing Experience: Previous experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment is required.
People Skills: Proven ability to motivate, guide, and hold a team accountable in a high-output setting.
Food Handler Certification: Required.
Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for quality, consistency, and compliance.
Physical Stamina: Comfortable working on your feet for the duration of a shift, lifting up to 50lbs, and working in varying temperatures.
Bonus Points: Familiarity with HACCP principles and food safety documentation.
