The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior AV Tech who lives and breathes control, automation, and security systems. You will be the boots-on-the-ground expert, capable of leading a project with minimal assistance from a Project Manager. - Project Leadership & Mentorship: Lead junior technicians on site, ensuring wiring diagrams and cable schedules are strictly followed.
- System Commissioning & Diagnostics: Perform onsite testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of complete AV, security, and automation systems. You will diagnose configuration and wiring errors to ensure control and auxiliary systems function correctly, which involves extensive, repetitive testing.
- Engineering Support: Maintain working drawings with field changes and testing notes for as-built documentation. Work with the project team to create GUI snapshots and workflow documents to convey system operation to clients/consultants.
- Programming & DSP Setup: Prepare documentation for programmers, collaborate with stakeholders to develop audio DSP and control system architecture, and handle programming tasks or basic code modifications
- General Operations: Assist in other areas of the business as needed, travel and work flexible hours, and adhere to all operational, Health & Safety, and Covid policies.
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on working experience in the AV and Security field.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of AV equipment, Automation systems, and networking.
- Brand Familiarity: Advanced knowledge of Crestron, Control4, QSC, Biamp, Shure, Lutron, and similar ecosystems.
- Site & Equipment Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of building codes/regulations, as well as safe operation of power tools, ladders, skyjacks, and lifts.
- Required Certifications & Clearances:
- Working at Heights & WHMIS
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License
- Valid Passport
- Must have a clean background (no criminal record)
- Preferred Industry Certifications:
- CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D
- Certifications from Crestron, Lutron, Q-SYS, Control4, or Dante.
