Position Details
Job Title: Senior Account Manager – Mechanical Security Solutions

Company Location: ABC Security Access Systems’ office and warehouse facilities are located at 55 Queens Plate Drive, Toronto, Ontario, M9W 6P2.
Work Arrangement: This role follows a flexible working arrangement based on business needs, with time split between the company office, remote work, and client site visits.
Work Schedule: The company’s standard hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours or overtime may be required from time to time based on operational needs.
Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $76,000 to $87,000 annually. This role is also eligible for sales commission.

Position Summary
The Senior Account Manager, Mechanical Security Solutions is responsible for driving revenue growth across both existing and new key accounts, with a primary focus on Division 8 security products and door-related systems.
This role combines strategic account management with proactive business development, targeting opportunities within the commercial, multi-family residential, and industrial market sectors. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, contractors, consultants, and property stakeholders by providing knowledgeable guidance on mechanical security solutions that align with application requirements, building code considerations, and long-term performance needs.
This position requires a highly motivated, relationship-driven professional who can identify opportunities early in the project lifecycle, position complex mechanical solutions effectively, and translate client needs into practical, compliant, and value-driven outcomes. While familiarity with electronic security systems is considered an asset, the primary focus of this role is mechanical security on and around the door.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development and Opportunity Creation
- Develop new client relationships and expand the company’s footprint within targeted verticals and geographic areas.
- Proactively source and pursue new opportunities within commercial, multi-residential, and industrial sectors.
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, and consultants to influence specifications and project design.
- Identify Division 8 opportunities at early project stages, including design, budgeting, tender, and retrofit.
Account Management
- Build, manage, and expand relationships with key accounts, including property managers, facility leaders, developers, general contractors, and consultants.
- Maintain a strong presence within assigned accounts through regular site visits, project meetings, and account reviews.
- Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client operational challenges and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Develop and execute account growth strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify opportunities to increase share of wallet, renew service agreements, support preventative maintenance contracts, and expand ongoing service work.
- Identify lifecycle upgrade opportunities within existing systems and infrastructure.
- Reinforce long-term client value through continuous engagement and solution evolution.
- Ensure a high level of client satisfaction through responsiveness, professionalism, and proactive communication.
- Act as the primary escalation point for client concerns or service challenges.
- Collaborate internally to resolve issues efficiently while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Demonstrate a solution-oriented mindset when navigating project or service complexities.
- Provide front-line order entry support by phone and email.
Technical Sales and Solution Positioning
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Division 8 mechanical security solutions, including commercial and architectural door hardware, fire-rated doors, frames and assemblies, electro-mechanical locking hardware, keying systems and high-security cylinders, and low-energy automatic door operators.
- Assess client requirements and recommend solutions aligned with building codes, life safety standards, and accessibility requirements.
- Position solutions clearly and effectively by translating technical details into client-focused value propositions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including estimating, operations, and service, to develop accurate and competitive proposals.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with estimating, operations, service, and project teams to ensure seamless execution of client deliverables.
- Support scope development, quoting, and project handoffs.
Market Intelligence and Strategic Insight
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies related to architectural hardware and mechanical security.
- Stay informed on relevant codes, standards, and regulatory changes impacting Division 8 solutions.
- Provide insight to leadership on market opportunities, risks, and client needs.
Other Duties
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of account activity, opportunities, and communications within CRM and internal systems.
- Perform other duties that are consistent with the purpose and general responsibilities of the position.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Division 8 products, applications, and door-related mechanical security solutions.
- Understanding of commercial and architectural door hardware, fire-rated doors, frames and assemblies, electro-mechanical locking hardware, keying systems, high-security cylinders, and low-energy automatic door operators.
- Understanding of building codes, fire ratings, hardware specifications, and accessibility standards, including AODA.
- Familiarity with electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, intercom, and intrusion systems, is considered an asset.

- Minimum of five years of experience in account management, technical sales, or business development within architectural hardware, Division 8 or door hardware, building construction, or mechanical security solutions.
- Experience working with contractors, integrators, consultants, or construction project environments.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, where required for client sites.
- Willingness to travel within the GTA and occasionally beyond for client meetings and industry events.
Working Conditions
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a combination of the company office, client sites, and remote work locations, based on business needs.
- Office-based work is performed in a standard office environment using office equipment, computer systems, phone, email, and other business tools.
- Client site work is performed throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas. Client sites may include commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-residential properties.
- Depending on the site and work being performed, employees may be exposed to changing site conditions, including noise, dust, equipment, machinery, uneven surfaces, stairs, ladders, restricted areas, outdoor conditions, and other site-specific hazards or requirements.
- Remote work may be performed as business needs allow and requires a suitable workspace where administrative, communication, and computer-based tasks can be completed effectively and confidentially.
Travel Requirements
- Local travel within the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas is required as part of the role.
- Extended or out-of-area travel may be required on occasion depending on business needs and the requirements of the role.
- Valid G class Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move through client sites as required.
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders and navigate confined or elevated spaces at client sites as required.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry samples, materials, or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment, including safety footwear, hard hats, high-visibility clothing, gloves, and eye protection.
