OVERVIEW
Opening in Fall 2026, Tanya Taylor is bringing its signature color, artistry, and spirit to Summerhill Toronto, Ontario with a brand-new boutique in the heart of town.
As Retail Store Manager, you will serve as the brand’s leader on the ground responsible for building and mentoring a dynamic team, driving top-line sales, delivering exceptional client experiences, and ensuring flawless execution of all store operations. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a store from the ground up and expand Tanya Taylor’s presence in an exciting new market.
We're looking for someone entrepreneurial and passionate, who thrives in an environment where they can make an impact, act as a brand ambassador, and build deep client relationships in a luxury-minded but community-driven setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business & Sales Performance:
- Drive performance for the Summerhill boutique, achieving weekly, monthly and seasonal sales goals
- Lead from the floor actively selling and coaching your team to deliver best in class service and results
- Partner with the corporate marketing team on store events, trunk shows, and activations tailored to the Summerhill community
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of DTC on product strategy and buys
- Champion the Tanya Taylor brand in the Toronto area building awareness through grassroots outreach and relationship-building
- Analyze selling and support DTC + sales team on annual forecasts and goal setting for team
- Analyze and drive key retail metrics including conversion, average order value, units per transaction and client retention
Client Management:
- Build and nurture a high-retention client strategy through elevated service and thoughtful outreach
- Leverage CRM tools to grow and maintain a client book tailored to the local market
- Introduce your existing client base to the Tanya Taylor brand and new location
- Create a robust private appointment culture and manage external stylists who bring clients into the store
Team Management & Leadership:
- Recruit, hire, and train a high-performing, service-first retail team
- Foster a positive, motivating, and inclusive team culture aligned with the Tanya Taylor brand
- Manage scheduling, timecards, and payroll with accuracy and adherence to policies
- Conduct performance reviews and ongoing development plans to support growth and retention
- Implement clear training programs and SOPs to empower team performance
- Conduct regular coaching conversations and performance feedback
- Create an accountable, respectful and inclusive team culture
- Support onboarding and ongoing development of employees
- Address performance, attendance and employee relations concerns in partnership with leadership and People Operations where appropriate
Operations & Administration:
- Manage overall store budget and payroll planning
- Maintain an elevated store environment from visual standards to music to staff presentation
- Oversee inventory accuracy, weekly deliveries, and shrink prevention
- Create opening/closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety protocols
- Work closely with the logistics team to ensure that appropriate stock and assortment levels are met and that weekly deliveries are received
- Ensure compliance with Ontario employment standards, health & safety and company policies
- Support payroll accuracy, scheduling and labour management
- Monitor staffing levels and support recruitment planning based on business needs
- Support safe store operations and loss prevention initiatives
Visual Merchandising:
- Work with corporate teams to uphold Tanya Taylor's visual identity in-store
- Maintain product presentation that highlights best sellers, core styles, and new arrivals
- Lead seasonal floor sets
Reporting:
- Share weekly sales reports and performance recaps with the corporate team
- Communicate regularly with the founder and CEO on store progress and feedback
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of previous retail management experience, preferably in womenswear or luxury
- Track record of meeting or exceeding financial sales goals
- Proficient in retail analytics
- Strong understanding of luxury or contemporary retail clientele and relationship driven selling environments preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and client building skills
- Experience managing and developing a team
- Proficiency in POS systems; Shopify a plus
- Knowledge of inventory processes and CRM strategies
- Understanding of luxury clientele, elevated service environments and the Summerhill / Toronto customer market
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule including evenings, weekends and key retail periods
- Build and maintain meaningful client relationships through exceptional service, personalized styling, outreach and community engagement, while leading the team in developing a strong and loyal client base.

Salary Range: $70,000–$85,000 CAD plus bonus opportunity

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
