We are seeking an energetic, results-driven Catering Sales Manager to join our hotel team. This role is responsible for generating catering and event revenue through proactive sales efforts, client relationship management, event planning, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Generate catering and event revenue through prospecting, networking, referrals, and account management.
- Respond promptly to catering and event inquiries and convert leads into confirmed business.
- Conduct hotel site tours and showcase guest rooms, meeting space, and event facilities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, wedding planners, sports groups, and community partners.
- Negotiate contracts, event details, and pricing while maximizing revenue opportunities.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and community functions.
Event Planning & Client Management
- Coordinate all event details from initial inquiry through event completion.
- Prepare contracts, event documentation, and correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
- Create and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) ensuring accuracy and clear communication with operational departments.
- Host weekly Sales & Service meetings and present upcoming events to hotel operations teams.
- Work closely with Food & Beverage and Operations teams to ensure successful event execution and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate client records and activity notes within hotel systems.
Revenue & Operational Responsibilities
- Understand meeting room configurations and setup requirements.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of catering menus, pricing, and available services.
- Proactively upsell food and beverage offerings, meeting packages, and event enhancements.
- Monitor event pace and booking activity to identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Support hotel revenue goals through effective sales strategies and account management.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in brand and company training programs.
- Maintain flexibility to meet clients outside of regular business hours when required.
- Attend evening functions and occasional weekend appointments as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of hotel sales, catering sales, event planning, or hospitality experience.
- Proven ability to generate business, build client relationships, and close sales opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable with prospecting and outreach through phone, email, networking, and social media.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred
- Previous hotel catering sales experience.
- Experience with Opera PMS, Delphi, Salesforce, or similar hotel sales systems.
- Smart Serve Certification.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations and banquet service.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the hotel conducting site inspections and client tours.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials required for trade shows and sales events.
