Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant with preferably some medical knowledge to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in supporting daily office operations, managing patient and client communications, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the medical practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong office experience, familiarity with electronic medical records, and excellent communication skills to provide exceptional front desk support.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, creating a welcoming environment
Manage multi-line phone systems, scheduling appointments, and responding to inquiries efficiently
Maintain and update electronic medical records using Telus EMR
Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures, verifying insurance information and collecting payments when necessary
Prepare and organize documentation, charts, and correspondence for daily operation
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies
Support billing processes and insurance claims submission as needed
Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards

Experience

Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred, including use of EMR
Proven office experience with administrative responsibilities in a healthcare environment
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to medical practices is advantageous
Experience working as a front desk receptionist in a busy office setting
Strong organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with proficiency in French language would be an asset

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
