Full job description

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Commercial Aluminum Installer is responsible for the assembling and installing of commercial and industrial glazing applications, while ensuring that the installation meets company standards. The position operates a variety of specialized tools and equipment, maintains a safe, clean and respectful work environment, and performs other related duties. Some travel to the communities may be required. Successful candidates will be required to reside in the area.

Key Responsibilities

Install glazing systems, curtain wall, storefront, and doors as per drawings and instructions from head office
Communicate with lead-hand, co-workers, and supervisors
Keep construction site and shop tidy
Uncrate and assemble products from shipping and receiving
Install glazing systems, curtain wall, storefront, and doors as per drawings and instructions from head office
Monitoring and reporting on job progress on a daily basis
Assisting in resolving customer concerns and complaints arising from quality control as it relates to the installation of products
Following Health & Safety procedures and protocols at all times
Notifying the supervisor when supplies are low to ensure adequate amounts are ordered and available in the shop
Maintaining professional behavior in all dealings with customers, suppliers and colleagues

Requirements

Must have experience with aluminum & glass installations
Must have hardware installation experience

Ability to operate and work at heights on scissor lifts and ladders, while always following health and safety procedures.
Familiarity and competence with a variety of hand- and power-tools.
Ability to read construction drawings an asset.
Ability to lift materials weighing 75 lbs and up.
Detail orientation, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and an individual drive to succeed while always being a strong team player.
Customer service oriented, with the ability to always represent TCG in a positive manner, maintaining a professional tone and approach to both verbal and written communications.
Integrity and accountability.
Willingness to learn and maintain a high level of product and industry knowledge.
Completion of a high school diploma, with additional courses or other construction-related skills an asset.
A valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years driving experience and a clean driver’s abstract

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Applicants must have current work authorization in Canada as sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$38.00 per hour

Willingness to travel:

25% (preferred)
