JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Release of Information Coordinator, the Health Information Management Release of Information Clerk is responsible for responding to requests for patient information in accordance with Horizon and Provincial ROI Policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduation plus an administrative support program of at least six months duration OR five (5) years of recent experience ( within the last 8 years) as a 1016, shall be considered as equivalent.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record.
Demonstrated proficiency verified by testing in:
- Data Entry 4000 KSPH
- Medical Terminology Spelling 75%
- Medical Terminology Vocabulary 75%
- Filing 50%
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Health Information Management Release of Information Clerk is responsible for:
- Providing clerical support to Release of Information Manager
- Reviewing and assessing requests for release of clinical information
- Locating patient records and photocopying requested documents
- Releasing patient information
- Responding to inquires related to Release of Information
