We are currently seeking a professional, dependable, and customer-focused Full-Time Security Officer to join our Safety & Security team.
Position Overview
As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in protecting guests, employees, and property while delivering exceptional customer service. This position combines proactive patrol, emergency response, event security, and culturally respectful guest interactions in a luxury resort environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patrol & Prevention
- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of guest areas, banquet and conference facilities, restaurant, back-of-house operations, parking lots, and the lakeside perimeter.
- Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards, including seasonal risks such as snow, ice, wildlife, and lake access.
- Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and daily activity records.
Event & Conference Security
- Provide security support for conferences, weddings, community events, and special functions.
- Assist with crowd management and ensure compliance with Alberta liquor regulations.
- Work collaboratively with Banquets, Events, and other operational departments to ensure safe and successful events.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to alarms, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other safety concerns.
- Provide First Aid and CPR when required.
- Liaise with the RCMP, emergency responders, and other authorities as necessary.
Monitoring & Guest Support
- Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems.
- Assist guests and staff with lockouts, access issues, and general inquiries.
- Provide safety escorts for guests and employees when required.
- Support Front Desk operations during security-related situations.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Alberta Security Services Licence.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
Preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
- Experience in a hotel, resort, conference centre, or event venue.
- ProServe Certification.
- Experience working with First Nations communities.
- Knowledge of Alberta liquor legislation and regulations.
