Position Summary
Quality Cheese is seeking an enthusiastic IT Intern to support the daily operation and maintenance of our technology systems at our Orangeville location. Reporting to the IT team, this is a hands-on learning opportunity where you will gain practical experience in technical support, systems maintenance, and IT project work in a manufacturing environment. The role also supports evolving technologies, including exposure to AI-enabled tools and digital systems.
- Location: 40 Centennial Rd, Orangeville, ON L9W 3T3
- Compensation: $22/hour
- Availability: Monday through Friday during business hours
- Vacancy Status: This is a new position and is currently vacant. We are actively seeking to fill this role immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up and configuring workstations, printers, and basic networking equipment
- Provide front-line technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Support installation of software updates, security patches, and antivirus tools
- Assist in maintaining systems such as VOIP, POS, time and attendance, and inventory devices
- Help support internal systems (e.g., ERP systems, databases, and digital tools)
- Participate in deployment and retrieval of IT hardware across company locations
- Assist with onboarding by setting up user accounts, email access, and system permissions
- Maintain documentation and IT records
- Support IT projects, troubleshooting initiatives, and process improvements
- Perform basic cabling and hardware setup, including Ethernet installation
- Assist with access control systems for employees, contractors, and visitors
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Interest in emerging technologies, including AI tools and automation
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
