Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing security alarm systems and related electronic security equipment. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Alarm Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients by delivering high-quality service and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and troubleshoot alarm systems including CCTV, sensors, IDS, and telecommunication devices.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure proper system installation.
Use hand tools, power tools, and low voltage electrical equipment to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
Conduct system testing and calibration to ensure optimal performance of security devices.
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and upgrades on existing alarm systems.
Collaborate with clients to assess their security needs and provide technical solutions accordingly.
Document all work performed accurately in service reports and system documentation.
Adhere to safety protocols when working with electrical components and construction sites.
Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, new technologies, and best practices in electronic security systems.

Qualifications

Proven experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction drawings.
Strong electrical experience with knowledge of low voltage wiring and telecommunication systems.
Familiarity with CCTV systems, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and computer networking concepts.
Mechanical knowledge related to installation of security hardware using hand tools and power tools.
Experience working with computer hardware related to security systems setup and troubleshooting.
Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately.
Construction experience is a plus for understanding building layouts during installations.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in complex technical environments.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various settings including construction sites or client locations.

Pay: $20.54-$41.90 per hour
